An Attic Renovation Extends the Living Area Upstairs

The addition of a full bath, skylights, new wooden flooring, drywall and a safe stairway with a sliding barn door reclaimed unused attic space and turned it into the family’s bonus room. The project retained heritage details such as the transom windows, original beams and brick flue while blending in more modern features like the sliding barn doors. A new exterior spiral staircase provided additional access and character.
